I know the situation is bad right now. My husband is forever worrying about the future of local media through these times. I was in various car dealers and had to wait to talk to someone. We need a car because our 13 year old car is about done, and we can not get the part because they do not make the car! At the mall, the line for the movies was very long too and so were the restaurants. Now it could be just because it is a special day but I do not see NYers stopping the money train. I looked to go somewhere this week on JetBlue because the girls are on vacation, and yet I could not find a seat, let alone four seats, to fly anywhere warm! Even Boston was booked. All of my 9 out of 10 friends are going skiing for the week. Maybe it is coming back, but if not, I hope I have enough cushion to get us through! I lived with no jobs during the early 80s with my dad working at the steel mill so I try to avoid that same fate. Do I want my first car payment in 7 years, no but we still have two jobs to go to so we are extremely lucky. Am I buying the same car I would have a few months ago, no because I want a low payment and good fuel economy. The Mouse has always been a smart company during these periods. You will focus inward and come out stronger. Sometimes we all need to be pulled up by our boot straps. We overate and now it is time to diet. I feel awlful for the people who lived within their means and lost their jobs. I wish the pro athletes would each donate a million bucks each, and we would do a lot of good for this country.
