Today we celebrated the official National Thanksgiving Turkey – the same one pardoned on Tuesday by President George W. Bush. The turkey, named “May”, drew huge crowds on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom this Thanksgiving Day where his dream came true – appearing as parade Grand Marshal – instead of on someone’s plate.
And this is what they were lined up for:

All summer long, I pray for the cooler weather to get here and when it finally does, all I can think about is how fast time is flying by. Thanksgiving is just five days away. OMG! Which means Christmas is just a month away. Again – OMG! But let me say this – the weather has been fab-u-lous! It has been absolutely gorgeous here the past few weeks. Jefferson is loving it, too.
It has been a grueling few weeks here since I got back from Chicago. My mom has taken ill with something effecting her ability to walk. She has been to the doctor, received an MRI, multiple xrays, a full body bone scan – and still, they can’t figure out what the problem is. Can you say “FRUSTRATING”? She can’t physically do anything on her own – except with a walker which only seems to help a little. The last doctor has now transfered her to a hip specialist and we’re now waiting to get an appointment with him (or her, for that matter.)
So in addition to taking care of her, I have been busy at work – lots of projects going on especially with the holidays coming.
I’ll be working Thanksgiving Day -and maybe this photo gives you an idea why. Guess who’s coming to Disney World?
Other Thoughts:
I had a chance to reconnect with some former colleagues, also friends, at a nice dinner a few weeks ago. It’s hard to believe I’ve known them 18 years!
