  1. Boys of Summer

    June 23, 2007 by Leanne

The Hyland boys have invaded the City Beautiful. Coming from both coasts they’ve landed in Orlando for a little mixture of business (which is done) and now pleasure.

A home-cooked dinner started the weekend. Garlic doused scallops in butter with linguine. Can you say “yummmmmm“?

On Thursday we had a big going away bash for four of our co-workers. Liz (above right) is heading to NYC.
Brad and Mike came in from LA for few meetings.

    Group photo at Epcot.

BIG group photo at the Boardwalk.

  2. Yes, It's been awhile…

I know – you are tired of looking at the Spain pictures. I don’t blame you. I has been way too long since my last update. Mostly because after spending a month in Europe and dealing with the death of my baby dog in-between, my current life happenings seem inconsequential.

I’ve been working on rearranging (in small ways) some of the rooms of my house. I’ve been on an exercise kick (Thank God!) and I’ve just been working a lot. I also caught up on all the Pirates movies. I finally saw Pirates III – only in its 4th week of release. It was okay – but I liked Pirates II better. I wish I had taken the time to watch II again before I went to see III. It would have helped piece the storyline together a little better.

I’ve got company coming this weekend. That’s a big deal for me because I NEVER have company here. Two men (Wahoo!!) are staying here for two nights. It got me off my butt to get my house cleaning done. I think I’m ready for it.

Since I have no new pictures to share, I’ll leave you with some more of Spain. Adios – hasta manana.

Part of my tour group in front of the Castle Alcazar in Segovia.

    Me in Segovia.

More of the Castle Alcazar. (It was fabulous!)

I’m a sucker for a dog story. We walking down these cobblestone alleyways and saw this big dog perched on the itsy-bitsy balcony. He seemed okay with it.

Back in Barcelona, this was a famous building designed by their most famous architect – Gaudi.

Our last stop of the trip was to Monserrat – about an hour outside of Barcelona.

Here we visited a monastery located at the top of the mountain.

Me taking in the incredible view. It was chilly that day. What a trip and what an adventure. Thank you Adventures by Disney – Sol de Espana!

  3. Barcelona

I’m back from Barcelona. It’s hard to believe one week ago tonight we were having our farewell dinner of Paella in a gorgeous vintage restaurant.
Here are some more pictures from my Adventure in Spain.

Spain’s version of streetmosphere. Don’t ask about this one.

How poignant is this photo? Great representation of life in Barcelona.

A beautiful view of the city from a park overlook.

School kids forming a train to go into the park.

    A typical side street.

Allegedly, if you rub the turtle it is supposed to bring you good luck.

Street vendors are the norm in Europe.
