  1. They Went to Disney World!

    February 11, 2007 by Leanne

Indianapolis Coach Tony Dungy and running back Dominic Rhodes said they were going to Disney World and on Wednesday, February 7 – they did it.

Two of the winning Super Bowl team members took part in the traditional celebratory parade down Main Street, USA at the Magic Kingdom. Before the parade, the two took part in a mini-football scramble on a make-shift football field right in front of Cinderella Castle. A whole bunch of dreams came true this day!

    And the band played on.

  2. Game Day – Super Bowl XLI

    February 8, 2007 by Leanne

We started out the day with a team breakfast followed by a 2-hour team meeting. Then we loaded the cars and headed to Dolphin Stadium (formerly Pro-Player and Joe Robbi Stadium).

At Dolphin Stadium – the momentum kicked in – and so did the rain. For the early afternoon, the showers were scattered, but frequent. By game time, it was a constant downpour with no relief. It only got worse during the 4th quarter and then, the temperature dropped making matters worse. Eight hours of standing in the rain, cold, soaking wet, and basically miserable. But we survived.

This is what the view is from the tunnel, the same tunnel the players come through running out to the field.

Our team meeting held in a trailer at the compound.

    Peyton Manning during pre-game warm-up.

The Colts took the field in uniform for pre-game warm-ups.

My pre-game position was right behind the Colts cheerleaders. Yes, my camera crew loved it, and the other crews were very jealous. They kept saying “it just isn’t fair!”.

Legendary NFL coach Don Shula moments before he appeared in the pre-game ceremonies.

CBS anchor Hannah Storm on the sidelines.

A shot of one of the stadium sovenier shops.

This was our half-time escape from the rain – in the photographers locker room.

After the Colts won, the players did post-game interviews on the field.

    More Colts celebrations.

And then – Coach Dungy and Dominic Rhodes came to Disney World. Photos coming up!

  3. Taste of the NFL

    February 7, 2007 by Leanne

Over the next few days I will be posting all my Super Bowl Miami (XLI) photos. There are so many to share.

Here is the Saturday night gala – The Taste of the NFL. Imagine the Epcot Food & Wine Party for the Senses – footballized. Every table is hosted by an NFL legend with a restaurant from their franchise city.

    Darlene and Gary.

The gang – at least part of the gang. Good times.

Gary – and his fully signed helmet.

Me and the best looking player at the event – Kevin Houser. Yummy!

    Sarah Fox, me.

Hey Gary, I’ve got a secret to tell you about this event.

Of course, Gary wouldn’t miss an opportunity to have his picture taken with Miss Florida.
    And neither could Mike.
    Liz and Liz having fun.

Liz, Ken, Dar, and me – heading home.

Asleep on the way home. Nighty, night.

  4. More XLI

    February 2, 2007 by Leanne

As somebody once sang “the Beat Goes On” here in Miami. Here are more pix, in no particular order:

Me, Gary at Media Day on Tuesday.

The Colts arrive for their individual media time on Wednesday.

NFL Network had a fabulous news set at the Colts hotel.

Adam Vinitari holds a press conference.

We attended a meeting at a Biscayne hotel – and this was the view from the room. Wow!

Mike and I at Colts media day.
Gary attending a press conference by Devon Hester.

What can I say about this photo…

Look closely at this photo -there are two former Disney PR people in it.

Heading out to buy some rain gear – we hear it’s supposed to rain on game day. :(

  5. XLI

    February 1, 2007 by Leanne

It’s that time of year again – the hype is in full gear and the events are in full swing. Super Bowl XLI is on in Miami. Sorry any Detroit fans, but Miami is a heck of a lot better for a Super Bowl than up there. Gorgeous, gorgeous weather here.
You don’t want me to ramble on and on, so lets get started with the first two days of work:

Our arrival at Dolphin Stadium for Media Day.

A Pentagon TV crew gets into the action with the team.

The Jimmy Kimmel show hired the duo, known as the American Idol “rejects” to do Super Bowl hype stories.

Me at the Peyton Manning media interview.

Had to take a pic of hottie Brian Griese, son of famous Dolphin QB Bob Griese.
Sexy Rexy at this interview session.

Famous international sports photographer Jimmy DeFlippo captures great moments with some Colts players.

After a very long day, we wrapped up the night at Joe’s Crabhouse. Awesome.

In addition to Mike Ditka, we also saw Jimmy Johnson and Larry Csonka.
Off to bed soon for another 5am wake-up call. More photos to come.
