  1. Cal-i-forn-ia here I come….

    Cal-i-forn-ia – here I go… As close as I can remember the lyrics to that very old song.

    I spent a few days in Los Angeles, Hollywood to be specific, on a business trip this week. The weather was FAB-U-LOUS! Gorgeous! Our hotel was right on Hollywood Blvd – in fact, it was adjacent to the Kodak Theater were the Oscars were held. How cool! I wonder what star stayed in my hotel room! Probably no-one since it wasn’t a suite, but still, very fun.

    I won’t bore anyone with the convention storyline, so I’ll just share some pictures from throughout the week.

    We started out a little loose – Miguel behind the wheel, with an injured foot and addicted to his blackberry. Yes – we got lost but quickly got back on track. We should have just followed the directions the host team gave us. But the traffic jams made us look for an alternate route – big mistake.

    LA has a street named after my dog!
    And look – they still have Shakey’s pizza parlors in LA. We used to “party” at Shakey’s after our high school football games. The last one in O-town closed down years ago.

    I could see the famous sign from my hotel room. (Very cool!)

    There was also this pretty big church in my view.

    Wow – Time is flying by so quickly. I just downloaded the pictures from my camera over the past month and I only snapped 6 pictures – none of which are blog worthy. I’ve got to find something interesting to share with you this weekend.

    What has happened since last time??

    I experienced ESPN – The Weekend at the Disney-MGM Studios last week. It’s the third time they’ve hosted this event and it was my first time going. Although I only was there for a few hours, mostly because I was by myself and in work clothes. If you are a sports fan – this is definitely the place to be. Sports stars, sports anchors, and lots of other sports people were everywhere. There was interactive displays to get the whole family involved. The kids were loving it. Pretty cool.

    I am prepping for a trip to LA next week – for business. We received the itinerary yesterday and as usual, its jam packed with meetings and outings. I don’t think we’ll have any free time to just tour the city. I will definitely bring the camera and take pictures. I know for sure I’ll be seeing some colleagues for the first time in many months. That should be a fun reunion, of sorts.

    This weekend, we may drive down to visit the Disney Wildlife Preserve down in Osceola County. I have never been there but have heard its a very cool place. So, we want to get there before the weather here becomes too hot and miserable to do anything outdoors. Although, today is supposed to be in the high 80s. Where has spring gone so quickly?

    God bless the makers of Atari video games. I LOVE my “best of” game disc I bought a few months back. I am addicted to Crystal Castles and fall back on Centipede when I get frustrated.
