  1. Too Tired

    April 30, 2005 by Leanne

    No new photos
    No new thoughts
    No new nothing……

Bottom line – I’m just too tired to think of anything fun, witty, or exciting to share with you.(No comments from the peanut gallery.) Maybe after a good night’s sleep tonight I’ll come up with something that will knock your socks off!

    Until then…

    Ever wonder:
    • why socks and shirts always come out of the dryer “inside out”?
    • why on cop shows during an interview, the interviewee goes on with his normal work like nothing’s ever happened? If a cop EVER came to interview me, I’d give him/her my full attention! That’s so weird.
    • why young people take driving for granted?
    • why if you’re going to be sick, it’s always right before or during a big time in your life?
    • why plumbing problems always happen on the weekend?
    • why the grocery store is always out of your favorite brand or item?
    • why when you find the cutest blouse ever – the store doesn’t have it in your size?
    • why all the nice guys are married (or not “into” women)?

  2. The Food Pyramid

    April 23, 2005 by Leanne

Mama always says – “You’ve got to eat your fruit and vegetables before you can have dessert.”

Well, mom would be proud of me today. Look what was in huge supply at the Farmer’s Market this morning! The tomatoes and strawberries were just gorgeous and so red! I’ve been chowing down on the berries since I got home – so sweet and perfect!

There was also a Middle-eastern bakery stand at the market today, so I picked up a bag of what I thought was pita bread. But when I toasted a piece to go along with my awesome homemade olive relish (it is really the best ever!), the bread wasn’t pita, but something thinner and crunchier. It was good, just not what I expected.

Jefferson had to stick his nose into what was going on. He snubbed the tomatoes for a biscuit. Go figure!

Meanwhile, Ashley could have cared less about the food. She just wanted to stick her toes in the water.

One final thought before I head back out today – I saw my first lovebug this morning at a stoplight. It’s almost May – so I guess they’re right on time. Get the car cleaner out!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  3. Freak Things – IN the Blink of an Eye

    April 16, 2005 by Leanne

One minute you’re blowing up a balloon for someone’s birthday,

the next minute you’re in a lot of pain!
    Here’s the “day after” look:
A little make-up tonight and no-one will ever know! (Except you!)

  4. This Weekend Ranks a "10"

    April 10, 2005 by Leanne

If you are reading this and you live in Florida – I don’t have to tell you how perfect the weather was this weekend.
    It was unbelievably beautiful.
Confession: I didn’t shoot this photo.
With that said, there isn’t anything new and exciting to tell you. (I see most of you hitting your “home” buttons to take you away from this site right now!)

    Here’s a random thought:
As I was walking Jefferson tonight, I had a total feeling of euphoria. The sky was crystal clear, the winds were blowing, the temperature was in the low 70′s and the aroma of the jasmine vines in full bloom was intoxicating. All that, plus listening to Andrea Bocelli made for one perfect walk.

  5. More HK Photos

    April 8, 2005 by Leanne

Many of you have asked to see more pix from the trip – and here they are. I can’t put all of them up on the web, so these are mostly “around the city” shots.
This is one of the many hidden gardens we found throughout the city.
This garden was in Kow Loon. People go there to contemplate life.

This is a common site. Ok, Mike isn’t common in HK, but the roasted duck stands are everywhere!

Here’s another shot of the spectucular buildings there.

This is Lan Kwai Fong – the very popular nighttime hang out. There are small bars and restaurants up and down the streets. It was a very energetic and popular place.
And this is just a shot from the airplane over Denver. I thought it was pretty.

  6. I'm Back from Hong Kong!

    April 4, 2005 by Leanne

WOW – What a whirlwind week it was in Hong Kong!

Here is a shot of the beautiful nights in Hong Kong. (and the shopping extravaganza!)

We were there for seven days – and the shot on the right is the only glimpse of sun we saw the entire time.

And here is my friend Mike – we thought we’d wear constructions hats for the fun of it.

    More stories to come later.

    Bye Bye!
